Elvis descends on Lindhorst Wines

07 April 2009 by Lindhorst Wines
A private event was held at Lindhorst Wines in Paarl earlier last month, hosting a contingent of 80+ Swedish Restaurateurs touring the Cape. Lars Morgan (of Morgans Wine Shop in the Tyger Valley Mall) was the organiser of the event, along with Gus Dale from Lindhorst Wines.

A total of 14 wineries were invited to showcase a selection of their wines at an open air tasting, which was followed by dinner and entertainment. The group of Swedes were greeted by a school choir from Kayalitsha who kicked of the song and dance. Once the serious business of tasting of over 50 wines was concluded, an Elvis Presley impersonator and his 11 piece band were definitely the highlight of the evening and soon had the Swedes shaking at the knees. The main act was followed by a magic show and a hypnotist, and the whole evening was lit up by the full-moon.

Prior to the evening party, the Swedish contingent went from Harry's Restaurant chain to Kayalitsha and started a charity group to help the under-privileged. They handed out 1,000 soccer balls and 1,000 teddy bears to a primary school. They also set a new world record for the most balls kicked in to the air at the same time! As part of their drive to invest and support the local communities of the countries they buy wine from, they will be continuing their support for this primary school through the charity they established.

Lars and his team will be conducting a superb wine tasting fair at the Tyger Valley Mall where the general public will have a chance to sample all the wines from the estates listed below, and many others - small producers that are big on quality.
